Easy Peasy Apple Crisp

My paternal grandma originally introduced me to this recipe.  It's one my mom and I used for years. Then, as with most recipes I use, I added my own little touches and adjustments to it over the years to make it uniquely my own.  This recipe does not use the more typical oatmeal or brown sugar in its topping, which is one of the reasons it's so quick, easy, and original.

Filling
4 cups peeled, thinly sliced Apples
1/2 cup Orange Juice
1 tsp. Sugar
1/2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon

Topping
1/2 cup (1 stick) Butter, softened, but NOT melted
1 cup All-Purpose Flour
2/3 cup Sugar
1/3 cup Brown Sugar
1 tsp. Ground Cinnamon

Spray 9"x9" baking pan with non-stick spray (or grease in your own preferred way).  Add peeled, thinly sliced apples.  Pour orange over the oranges, then sprinkle with 1 tsp sugar and 1/2 tsp. cinnamon and lightly stir them around.

In a bowl, add the softened butter, flour, sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon.  Using a heavy fork, combine together until a crumbly consistency forms.  Sprinkle this over the apples.

Bake at 375° 45 minutes or until fully browned and crisp all over the whole top.  Let cool for about 30 minutes, then serve, topped with vanilla ice cream.
